What Causes Sound But No Picture?
1. Backlight failure – LED strips inside panel burnt. LED driver board supplies ~150-200V. If one LED in series fails, all go dark. You still hear sound because mainboard and power are OK. 2. T-Con board failure – timing controller that drives panel. If T-Con fails, panel gets no image. 3. Mainboard video processing failure – GPU or LVDS driver failed, but audio path separate. 4. Quick Test You Can Do Safely
Dark room, turn TV on, volume up, shine phone flashlight at 45 degrees very close to screen. If you see faint outline of menu or people moving, backlight is dead, panel and T-Con are OK. That is good news – backlight replacement is 40-60% cheaper than panel.
